Looking after our skin and hair through any time of the year is important, but actually doing that religiously we all no is difficult. If I had to choose one life time event that I would put 110% effort into my skin routine and care, it would be pre wedding day! I recently got married and I can tell you from experience and from a makeup artist perspective that it is SO important. Im sharing my top 6 tips on getting your skin ready for that big day and the treatment I did a few days before mine... 1. INVEST If you haven't already, find a skincare range that works for you and invest. Stock up on all your favorites plus more. I got some advice from a professional, i told her what i was currently using and she gave me advice on what might be great to add to that. I ended up adding a couple of serums including VIT C into my pre wedding routine. 2. STICK TO A ROUTINE Once you've invested in some good skincare and you've got it all ready to go make sure you make up a routine and stick to it. Morning and Night. 3. PLAN AHEAD. You no what date your wedding is so work back from there. Book all your treatments in advance so they are in the calender and you can budget for them. Add in things like facials every 6 weeks and closer together as the date approaches, peels if that's something you'd like to include, brow waxing/threading/tinting every 4 weeks to make sure you get the best shape and any added extras you need. I found it really helpful to have everything planned out and written down so i could add this into my budget and not let it get forgotten and put at the bottom of the list with the chaos that wedding planning can bring. 4. TRUST THE EXPERTS. I really put full faith into my beauty therapist Elizabeth at Skin Boutique. She knows the ins and outs of skincare so i let her study my skin and decide what best treatments would suit me and give me the best possible results in my time frame. ( see below for my treatment done days before my big day to get it ready) 5. LET YOUR SKIN BREATH Very important step and I know isn't easy for some. I'm not a huge makeup wearer but the week before my wedding I still went cold turkey and wore no makeup, I stuck 110% to my skin routine day and night and took really good care of it. 6. DIET The last and possibly most important step. A great diet is essential for healthy skin. Try treat your body with healthy nutritious meals and stay clear of processed oily foods. Keep hydrated and try up your water intake each day (maybe less coffee!) My Wedding Skin Prep TreatmentI chatted about this briefly on my instagram nearly a whole year ago now but I wanted to pop down what Elizabeth at Skin Boutique did on my skin days before my big day. It was such a beautiful treatment and my skin had literally never felt or looked so good after this. Im really pleased i did it!
SKIN GYM FACIAL; Step 1. 3 Step cleanse followed by a light environ Lac Pam Peel which gently removes dead skin cells and excess oils and leaves your skin looking plump and hydrated. Step 2. LED Light for 14mins. It works like your skins own personal trainer on the inside. It strengthens and boosts collagen and elastin leaving skin much brighter and fresher. Step 3. A Infusion and a environ mask (pictured). A treatment gel is applied which gives a boost of Vit A and then the mast is applied which sets to a rubber consistency. Once mask is set it gets clipped up to the environ DF machine which pushes the treatment gel nice and deep within the skin cells! AMAZING! Enquire about this service at www.skinboutique.co.nz
